Crumbs for Cynon Ponty get the Loaf or Election Hype again?

A Rhondda Cynon Taf cabinet report part below shows Pontypridd getting £18,000,000 in grants when Aberdare getting just £5,850,000 once again showing the further down the valley you get the more funding is given proving once again Cynon Valley is the poor relation.

I also notice Mountain Ash Southern Cross Valley Link road is again in the spotlight again, this much needed new road is now well overdue. Today there was queuing traffic from Mountain Ash Bridge almost to the quarter mile in Abercynon and I expect there are a few more motorists frustrated over the time wasted in this daily ritual to and from work.

Don’t get to excited our councilors are just talking about it as they have been for the last 15 years and this program is for 2007 to 2013.

Happy motoring for the next 5 years

Keep voting Labour you know it makes sense.

West Wales and the valleys convergence programme 2007 – 2013 – package of potential projects for town centre regeneration in Rhondda Cynon Taf

Aberdare:  Townscape Heritage Initiative, Public Realm Improvements, Enhancing Transport Infrastructure, Creative Ventures, Urban Design and Remodelling

 Total £5,850,000   Mountain Ash

Mountain Ash Southern Cross Valley Link

Total £6,000,000.

Pontypridd: Pedestrianisation and Public Realm, Ynysangharad Park Improvements, Riverside Walk and Environmental Improvements and Town Improvement Grants.

 Total £18,000,000

Improvements to Ynysangharad War Memorial Park ? are those improvements by way of a great big flamin car park, is that why the grants are so large, a sweetner perhaps. Would Cynon Valley Councillors allow this to happen in Aberdare Park, I am sure the people of Ponty would be all to willing to give this grant to Cynon Valley as long as they take the car park as well and put it in their Park, any takers.
