Women and Families in the Miners’ Strike, 1984-5

Community Dinners at the Cynon Valley Museum  1 Feb, 18 Feb, 21 March, 15 April 2020. 1.00pm – 2.30pm.  Free buffet dinner, short talks, activities for children, all welcome!  PROGRAMME OF EVENTS  All dinners will be held from 1.00pm to 2.30pm  Saturday 1 February: Soup Kitchens and Food Parcels during the Strike Tuesday 18 February: Children and Young People in the Strike Saturday 21 March: Communities Supporting the Strike Wednesday 15 April: Intergeneration Reminiscence Session Come to one dinner or all four to learn more about women and families in the miners’ strike and share your memories. At the events:o   We'll have short talks from historians and you'll hear from local women in their own words about the strikeo   Share and discuss your memorieso   Activities for childreno   And we'll have an optional collection for local charities Run by historians Florence Sutcliffe-Braithwaite, Natalie Thomlinson and Daryl Leeworthy, with local activists and volunteers.  Meat, vegetarian and vegan options available.
