TWO PUBS in Cynon Valley Served Closure Notices

TWO further licensed premises have been served Closure Notices for breaking Covid-19 regulations.  The closures come as infection rates continue to rise across Rhondda Cynon Taf and Wales as the country heads into a national firebreak lockdown.

The Tynte Hotel in Abercynon and the Rock Inn, Aberaman, were found to be in breach of the Health Protection (Coronavirus Restrictions) (No. 2) (Wales) (Amendment) (No. 4) Regulations 2020 which came into force on 10 August 2020, to control, minimise and prevent the risk of exposure to COVID-19 and have now been closed (RED Notice) with immediate effect. Contraventions at the premises included a failure to collect accurate Test, Trace and Protect details; no face coverings being worn; and overcrowding with no social distancing.

In addition, the Police had also been called to the Tynte Hotel earlier in the evening after a report of large numbers attending the pub, and their body camera footage evidenced more severe breaches of overcrowding, no social distancing and no bar service being undertaken.

Both premises must now resolve the issues and measures identified and will remain closed until improvements are made.

The team have also identified issues at another licensed premises, The Bush Inn, Tonypandy and the premises has been served an Improvement Notice (Orange). During the visit officers found insufficient details recorded for TTP purposes, patrons from different households being allowed to gather indoors and they were not providing table service.
