THEATR IOLO GETS CREATIVE FOR FAIR SATURDAY

Theatr Iolo are offering free play sessions this November as part of Cardiff’s first Fair Saturday to celebrate their new Welsh language family show, Chwarae.

Taking place on 30 November, Fair Saturday is a global movement celebrating the power of arts and culture. Theatr Iolo will be getting involved in the worldwide event by teaming up with Chapter Arts Centre to run free play sessions for children aged 3 to 7 and their grown-ups. The sessions will be run by artist and performer Elgan Rhys and will give families the chance to spend time together and let their imaginations run wild as they explore the magical world of play.

The play sessions will take inspiration from Theatr Iolo and Pontio’s Welsh language family show, Chwarae. A joyful exploration of the wonder of playing, this magical show for children aged 4+ will feature live music and stunning moves. Chwarae will be performed at Chapter Arts Centre in March 2020 as part of a Wales wide tour.

The free play sessions will take place at in the Common Room at Chapter Arts Centre on Saturday 30 November. The sessions are 45 minutes long and will take place between 1pm and 1.45pm and 2pm and 2.45pm. Places are bookable in advance, although there will be a small number of places only available on the day. The play sessions will be run in Welsh language but will also be suitable for Welsh learners. To book please call the Chapter Box Office on 02920 304400. All tickets are free, although we will be asking for donations to the Children’s Hospital in Wales on the day.
