FOOTPATH 9 ABERAMAN TEMPORARY CLOSURE

RHONDDA CYNON TAFF COUNTY BOROUGH COUNCIL

(FOOTPATH 9 ABERAMAN) (TEMPORARY CLOSURE) ORDER 2019

 

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Rhondda Cynon Taff County Borough Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 which will have a maximum duration of six months

 

The effect of the Order will be to temporarily close the following section of footpath:-

 

Footpath 9 Aberaman

 

That part of the footpath that commences on the roundabout at the start of Ffordd Tirwaun, point A on the Order map (NGR SO01950116), and proceeds in a north westerly direction for 70 metres crossing a footbridge over the Aman River to terminate at a footbridge leading over the A4059 to Gas Works Road, point E on the Order map (NRG SO01910118)

 

The restriction is necessary in the interests of public safety

 

During the closure the alternative route is as follows:

 

That part of the footpath that commences on the roundabout at the start of Ffordd Tirwaun, point A on the Order map (NGR SO01950116), and proceeds in a general north westerly direction along Ffordd Tirwaun through Riverside Retail Park, Cwmbach for 560 metres to the rear of ASDA to reach Glan Yr Afon, point B on the order map. Continue in a similar direction through Glan Yr Afon for 225 metres and along a path adjacent to No. 10 Glan Yr Afon to join Footpath 8 Aberaman, point C on the Order map. Proceed south west along the footpath for 95 metres, crossing a footpath over the River Cynon to a point D on the Order map. Turning in a south east direction before the bridge over the A4059, proceed along the path for 540 metres to terminate adjacent to Mike’s Field at a footbridge leading over the A4059 to Gas Works Road, point E on the Order map (NGR SO01910118)

 

The Order will be in operation from 6th January 2020 to 1st May 2020 or until such time as the works have been completed
