Ecstasy warning following incident in Talbot Green

Officers are appealing for help in identifying the male who supplied the tablet…

Local Policing Inspector Stephen Daley is issuing a warning about the dangers of illegal drugs such as ecstasy following a recent incident involving a teenage girl in Talbot Green (Saturday, 21 September, 2019).
Police have now launched an investigation into the incident which resulted in the girl, who is in her early teens, being taken to Royal Glamorgan Hospital – she has since made a full recovery.
It is understood that a quarter of a tablet was taken by the girl who, according to doctors who dealt with her, is lucky to be alive.
The incident has caused concern and parents are being urged to speak to their children about the dangers.
Officers are working with schools in the area to raise awareness about the recent incident and warn pupils about the dangers of drugs.
Local Policing Inspector Stephen Daley said: “The decision to take an ecstasy table can be made in a split second and it could be the last choice that somebody will make.
“We know that there are tablets in circulation which could a deadly amount of MDMA and people are literally playing roulette with their own life – it is saddening and deeply concerning that tablets are being exchanged between children.”
Officers investigating the incident have now launched an investigation and are trying to identify who supplied the tablet.
He is described as being approximately 16 years old, slim, 5ft 10 with mousy brown hair with a straight fringe. He was wearing a black hoodie at the time of the incident.
Inspector Daley added: “I’m asking the community to make a stand – anybody who has information – give us a call and tell us who supplied the tablet on Saturday evening. That call could help to save a life.”
