CRIME ALERT | TELEPHONE SCAM WARNING
Police are urging the public to be vigilant following a telephone scam that duped an elderly resident from #Pentre into handing over bank details recently.
The victim was pressured into giving the details by a man who claimed to be offering electrical cover for her washing machine.
South Wales Police police was alerted by the woman’s daughter in law, who promptly cancelled her bank cards.
The incident has been referred to Action Fraud which will take forward the investigation.
People are urged to be vigilant and to look out for elderly or vulnerable relatives, friends and neighbours.
