Arts Bursary Funding Available from cash strapped council?

Would you like to apply for an Arts Bursary to help you fulfil your dreams and ambitions?

Rhondda Cynon Taf Council is offering grants of up to £500 to individuals or groups to help ease the cost of their journey in the world of cultural services.

The money can be put towards the cost of such things as relevant coaching and training and travel and accommodation for events and courses that will benefit the applicant’s career in the arts.

The cash can also be used towards audition entry fees or the purchase of costumes and equipment.

“Our County Borough has a proud tradition of being the home of many talented people in the world of the arts over many years – Sophie Evans, Stuart Burrows, Sir Geraint Evans, Stereophonics to name just a few.

“It is our aim to continue to nurture the wealth of talent that we have with our young people across the County through our Rhondda Cynon Taf Council Arts Bursary and I urge all those who qualify and wish to pursue a career in the arts to apply for assistance.”

Applicants must have resided in Rhondda Cynon Taf for at least four years at the time of application and will continue to reside within the County Borough during the year of the Arts Bursary. (Periods of travel for research or training are excluded and will not affect applications).

Applicants must also demonstrate exceptional talent or potential as a future artist and be aged 11-25 at the time of application.

As part of applications, support letters from schools, colleges, universities, arts organisations, tutors or mentors can be provided.

Applicants will be requested to outline the purpose for the funding and provide the necessary supporting evidence to support their application. The Rhondda Cynon Taf Arts Bursary is not open to professional artists and only one application can be submitted each year.
