Labour’s antics are hard to understand

Many years ago a Labour-run authority in Liverpool delivered redundancy notices to employees by taxi.

On Monday, the Labour-run administration of Rhondda Cynon Taff Council had a chauffeur to drive to my house, and I assume other elected members’ houses, delivering a letter telling us members that today, the Labour administration intends to give several senior officers a pay increase of at least 15%, or
£11,000.

The irony is not lost on me, though I’m sure it will be on the many who are having to bear the brunt of the abject failures of Labour in RCT as they try to deal with their incapabilities and dire decisions based on what can only be seen as “family, friends and supporters first and the borough’s women cand hildren last” as the people of the borough are steered towards the iceberg yet again.

If I were to publicly put into print what I actually think of this decision, I am sure I’d be barred from public office.

On the plus side the matter to be decided upon is to be heard behind closed doors. Fortunately this will at least allow me to have a full and frank input into the decision.

Cllr. Mike Powell
