People within RCTC have uses of corporate charge cards or credit cards

AberdareOnline requested under the Freedom of Information ACT information on uses of corporate charge cards or credit cards?

Below was the reply from Rhondda Cynon Taf Council

I refer to your Freedom of Information Request, which is set out below, together with the Authority’s response:

Q: how many people within RCTC have uses of corporate charge cards or credit cards?

A: Currently there are 421 cards in circulation across the Authority, this is including school based cards.

I trust this answers your query.

We think that's to many cards with credible amount money being spent how much we don’t know but!

Should Rhondda Cynon Taf Council be consolidating its spending power not allowing 421 individuals to purchase from anywhere?

The reply to this request was inadequate as it tells you nothing as to what money is being spent on the cards.

The council should tell the long suffering public what these cards are costing the people.

Cards such as these are being abused world wide and it's about time this over generous perk was stopped as there seems to be no control over them at all and even if there is the public who are after all footing the bill should have a right to to know what is being spent on them and where it is being spent.

There is not enough transparency in government these days and that's a dangerous situation.
