Llwydcoed AFC Juniors get a helping hand

Local energy company, Pennant Walters, has given Llwydcoed AFC Juniors £7,000 to help various young teams representing the club.

Pennant Walters has provided the funding as part of its community benefit programme attached to its Mynydd Bwllfa windfarm near Aberdare.

The Club runs a number of junior teams, ranging from under 6 through to under 16’s. The money has been put to good use and has allowed them to buy kit and equipment, including goals, balls and training cones, as well as a large number of wet weather training jackets to ensure youngsters are kept warm and dry on the side of the pitch during the winter months.

Pennant Walters is proud to sponsor Llwydcoed AFC Juniors and Managing Director, Dale Hart, said:

“We are pleased to continue our support for the junior section of the club and hope this money will help young children continue to play the game they enjoy.

“I’m glad that the money will allow the club to benefit and pass these kits down to players and teams for a few years to come.”

Llwydcoed AFC Juniors Chairman, Philip Warman, added:

“To have this support is just great. It means that we aren’t needing to reach out to families, asking for a financial contribution for this equipment.

“We continue to see the number of players grow and this funding will allow people to benefit for years to come. On behalf of everyone at the club I’d like to say thank you to Pennant Walters.”

The funding from Pennant Walters is linked to Pennant Walters’ 9 turbines 22 MW Mynydd Bwllfa wind farm near Aberdare in Rhondda Cynon Taf, which became operational in summer 2015. It builds on previous donations which have seen the company provide money to support various local community groups.
