Lynda Edmunds

Has anybody any idea of the whereabouts of Lynda Edmunds, formerly of 7 Unity Street Aberdare? I asked a couple of years ago in this forum, but no luck unfortunately. I'd really love to trace her; she was my best friend before my family emigrated to Australia in 1964. Her mother's surname was Holmes. We both attended Caradog school, then Lynda (who was much smarter than me) went on to Grammar school. Any help greatly appreciated.

I replied to you some time ago that I know Megan but hadn't seen her for a long time, and promised I would mention it to her when I saw her next. Sorry, but I forgot about this and I have seen Megan around. Next time I see her I will ask her and let you know.

Thanks! That would be great.

Come to think of it Megan frequents the Cynon Valley Band Club in Aberdare. Next time I go in I'll speak to her.

Gaillane,
I saw Megan tonight in the club. She is the right person and she will telephone Lynda tonight and I suggested Lynda gets onto this website and make contact with you, so look out for her. Lynda lives in Gloucester and tragically her husband died suddenly two weeks ago. Look out for her and if by chance nothing happens, let me know and I will contact Megan again.

Thank you so much Chestnut! Very sad news about Lynda's husband, so I don't think she'll be in the mood for contacting anybody at this stage. However, I will keep checking. Thanks again - I really appreciate it.

Hello Gail - I had no idea you were looking for me until last weekend. It's good to hear from you. Hope you and your family are well - as you know, my husband died recently, but it was on 8th September, not two months ago. Still early days, but my two sons and I are getting by, just taking one day at a time. I also have a grandson, who was two in September.
I don't have e-mail at home at the moment, working on it (long story!) but you could try my work address which is lynda.whitelock@gloucestershire.gov.uk. I will look out for messages and give you my e-mail address when I have one.
Love from Lyn (as most people call me these days!)
xx

It's lovely to hear from you. I have replied to your email address, and a big thank-you to Chestnut!!

Hi Chestnut - just to say I have made contact with Gail and she has replied, so BINGO!! Thank you so much - I had not idea she has been looking for me - we have so much catching up to do after 45 years!! Thanks again

Lyn

Gaillane and Lynda,
Glad you were able to make contact and hope all goes well for you both.
Regards,
Chestnut

I do not know if Lynda Edmunds is related but I would like to find out. My great great grandfather emigrated from Aberdare about 1870 and came to Minersville, Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania. John was born abt 1818 in Aberdare. I have not been able to determine much about him before 1844 when his son Edmund was born. He was married at least twice. One of his wife's, Mary Jones Edmunds, died at the birth of my great grandfather, William John Edmunds.

If anyone can be of assistance I would be very appreciative.

My mother, Gwendoline L. Jenkins Edmunds, was born in Aberbargoed in the Rhymney Valley.
