‘Eye-watering’ Newport Council tax rise will compound misery for residents
Responding to Newport Council’s proposed 8.5% increase to council tax, Andrew RT Davies MS, Leader of the Welsh Conservatives, said:
“The eye-watering council tax hike put forward by Labour in Newport will compound misery for residents.
“With household budgets already stretched by the cost of living crisis, residents will find it even harder to make ends meet after this local rate rise.
“The Welsh Conservatives would cap council tax increases to protect hard-pressed households from ridiculous rate rises.”
