Youth Work week 2016

Youth Work week will be held between 23-30 June this year, with many events taking place across the country. A national event to showcase youth work in Wales will take place on Tuesday June 28 between 12 – 2pm in the Red Dragon Centre, Cardiff Bay. The event will showcase the breadth of youth work and examples of the wide range of excellent projects that are delivered across Wales.

Youth Work Week is an annual event that gives youth workers and young people the opportunity to celebrate and share the achievements and impacts of youth work.

It aims to:

  • promote a wider understanding and support for youth work
  • gain media coverage
  • promote positive images of young people
  • promote the benefits of youth work
  • celebrate the contribution of youth work with young people.

The event will be open to public and will include young performers showcasing their musical talent.

Social media

As part of the week,  young people are being asked  to tweet their experiences/stories of youth work using #loveYWW or #caruWGI . There will also be a Thunderclap campaign on the 30 June. Stories can also be sent tolizzy@youthcymru.org.uk. Please see the poster below for more details.
