You have a week left to register to vote! The deadline is 22 May 2017

On the 08 June 2017, the UK will hold its general election, selecting our representatives in Parliament for the next five years. To be able to participate, you need to be registered to vote.

Registering to vote can be done online or by post, and all you will need is your National Insurance number. You can register if you’re 17, but you won’t be allowed to vote until you turn 18. You can vote in person or by post, and if necessary, for example if you’re a student, you can register at two addresses, though you can only vote once!

If you’re unsure whether you’re registered to vote, you can check with your local authority.

For more information on registering please see the Electoral Commission website, and to register to vote, please visit the gov.uk site here.
