Working Together To Safeguard The Public?

The partnership body responsible for safeguarding children and adults at risk in the Cwm Taf area has expended to include Bridgend.

With effect from April 1, the Cwm Taf Safeguarding Board became the Cwm Taf Morgannwg Safeguarding Board (CTMSB) and now covers Bridgend as well as Rhondda Cynon Taf and Merthyr Tydfil.

The change follows the Welsh Government’s announcement in June 2018 that Cwm Taf University Health Board would be responsible for healthcare services in the Bridgend County Borough Council area.
Cwm Taf Morgannwg Safeguarding Board is a statutory partnership made up of the agencies that are responsible for safeguarding children and adults at risk in the Cwm Taf Morgannwg area.

Gio Isingrini, Joint Chair of the Cwm Taf Morgannwg Safeguarding Board, said: “The aim of the Board is to ensure that people of all ages, living in the region, are protected from abuse, neglect or other kinds of harm. This also involves preventing abuse, neglect or other kinds of harm from happening.

“Keeping children and adults who may have needs for care and support safe is everyone's responsibility.  This means feeling safe and being safe within their home or in their community, school, work place or anywhere else they go.”
