VARIOUS STREETS, MOUNTAIN ASH) (TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS

RHONDDA CYNON TAFF COUNTY BOROUGH COUNCIL

(VARIOUS STREETS, MOUNTAIN ASH) (TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS) ORDER 2019

 

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Rhondda Cynon Taff County Borough Council intends, not less than 7 days from the date of this Notice, to make an Order under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, which will have a maximum duration of eighteen months.

 

The restriction is necessary to enable works to be executed on or near the road in connection with the Mountain Ash Cross Valley Link Road

 

The effect of the Order will be as follows:-

 

1. Temporary Road Closures

 

Temporarily close the following sections of roads during the specified dates:

 

a. Penrhiwceiber Road, from its junction with Mount Pleasant Terrace, south eastwards for 110 metres, and Miskin Road, from its junction with Penrhiwceiber Road, north westwards for 35 metres Duration – from 20th July 2019 to 1st September 2019

 

b. Pryce Street, form its junction with Commercial Street to its junction with Duffryn Street Duration – from 20th July 2019 to 1st September 2019

 

c. Bush Road, from its junction with Glyngwyn Street and Penrhiwceiber Road, south westwards for a distance of 30 metres Duration – from 20th July 2019 to 13th October 2019

 

Alternative Routes

 

From the northern side of the closure, proceed via Victoria Street, Bailey Street, Miskin Road, Oxford Street, Commercial Street, High Street, Llanwonno Road, Hawthorn Terrace, Glamorgan Street, Abercynon Road and Penrhiwceiber Road to the southern side of the closure

 

From the southern side of the closure, proceed via Penrhiwceiber Road, Abercynon Road, Glamorgan Street, Hawthorn Terrace, Llanwonno Road, High Street, Commercial Street, Oxford Street, Henry Street, Miskin Road and Glyngwyn Road to the northern side of the closure.

 

NB Vehicular Access will be maintained to Jones Street during the closure of Penrhiwceiber Road, and access will be maintained for resident’s vehicles in Pryce Street during the operation of the closure

 

2. Temporary One Way Traffic

 

a. Victoria Street, Mountain Ash – one way traffic in a north westerly direction only, from its junction with Mount Pleasant Terrace to its junction with Bailey street

 

b. Glyngwyn Street, Mountain Ash – one way traffic in a south easterly direction only, from its junction with Bailey Street to its junction with Mount Pleasant Terrace Duration – from 20th July 2019 to 1st September 2019

 

NB The “Urban District of Mountain Ash (Pryce Street, Mountain Ash) One Way Order 1964” will be temporarily suspended to allow two way traffic in Pryce Street (from its junction with Commercial Street to its junction with Duffryn Street) during the prohibition. This will allow access for resident’s vehicles

 

3. Temporary Prohibition of Waiting At Any Time

 

a. Bailey Street, south eastern side, from the north eastern side of its junction with Victoria Street, north eastwards for a distance of 10 metres

 

b. Bailey Street, north western side, from the south western boundary of No. 22 Bailey Street, north eastwards for a distance of 15 metres

 

c. Victoria Street, both sides, from its junction with Bailey Street, south eastwards for a distance of 10 metres

 

Duration – from 20th July 2019 to 1st September 2019

 

The Council reserves the right to introduce additional temporary prohibition of waiting at any time restrictions along sections of the alternative route and surrounding streets, if it becomes apparent that traffic flows cannot be maintained due to parked vehicles Access will be maintained for pedestrians BUT NOT for emergency service vehicles
