(A4059 ABERDARE – COMMERCIAL STREET ROUNDABOUT TO DEPOT ROAD ROUNDABOUT AND HARRIET STREET ROUNDABOUT TO HIRWAUN ROAD)
(TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS) ORDER 2018
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Rhondda Cynon Taff County Borough Council have made an Order under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, which will have a maximum duration of eighteen months.
T he effect of the Order will be to temporarily close the following sections of roads: –
1. A4059 Aberdare – Commercial Street Roundabout to Depot Road Roundabout
2. A4059 Aberdare – Harriet Street Roundabout to Hirwaun Road
The restriction is necessary to enable works to be executed on or near the road.
The Order would come into force overnight from 2000 hours to 0600 hours the following day from Monday 6th August 2018 to Monday 13th August 2018 or until such time as the works have been completed
NB: The closures will be phased and closure 2 will not come into operation until closure 1 has been completed and the section of road re-opened
The existing access for pedestrians will be maintained as well as for emergency service vehicles
The alternative route for vehicles is as follows:
1. From the southern side of the closure proceed via Abernant Road, Bridge Street, Wellington Street, Meirion Street Roundabout, Depot Road Roundabout to the northern side of the closure.
For vehicles over 12’ 00” height the diversion route is as follows:
From the south eastern side of the closure, proceed via Wellington Street, Abernant Roundabout, Cwmbach Road, Canal Road, Cwmbach Roundabout, Gasworks Roundabout, A4059 Tinney’s Roundabout, Ynys Roundabout, Aberdare Bypass (A4059) and Wellington Street on the south western side of the closure.
From the southern side of the closure, proceed via A4059, Gasworks Roundabout, Cwmbach Roundabout, Canal Road, Cwmbach Road, Abernant Roundabout, Bridge Street, Wellington Street, Meirion Street Roundabout to the northern side of the closure.
The route for divers travelling in the opposite direction is the reverse of the above.
2. From the northern side of the closure proceed via Hirwaun Road, Cemetery Road, Mill Street, Harriet Street to the southern side of the closure.
For vehicles travelling in the opposite direction, reverse the directions given above.
