(TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE) ORDER 2017
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Rhondda Cynon Taff County Borough Council intends, not less than 7 days from the date of this Notice, to make an Order under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, which will have a maximum duration of eighteen months.
The effect of the Order will be to temporarily prohibit any person from causing any vehicle to proceed along Wellington Street to the south east of its junction with Phillip Street for a distance of 44.5 metres until its termination with its junction with Thomas Street
It is expected to be operative between the hours of 7:30am to 4:00pm on 10th September 2017 or until such time as the works are completed
The restriction is necessary to enable works to be carried out on or near the road.
Access will be maintained for emergency vehicles and pedestrians
The alternative route for vehicles over 12’ 00” height restriction at the railway bridge between the Abernant and Ynys Roundabouts is as follows:
From the south eastern side of the closure, proceed via Wellington Street, Abernant Roundabout, Cwmbach Road, Canal Road, Cwmbach Roundabout, Gasworks Roundabout, A4059, Tinneys Roundabout, Ynys Roundabout, Aberdare Bypass (A4059) and Wellington Street to the south western side of the closure. The route for drivers travelling in the opposite direction is the reverse of the above.
For vehicles under 12’ 00” the alternative route is as follows:
From the south eastern side of the closure, proceed via Wellington Street, Abernant Roundabout, Ynys Roundabout, Aberdare Bypass (A4059) and Wellington Street to the south western side of the closure. The route for drivers travelling in the opposite direction is the reverse of the above.
