Tŷ Hafan will once again be bringing Wales’ most colourful 5K Rainbow Run to Porthcawl to support its vital work with life-limited children and their families.
More than 700 people have already signed-up for the wacky fun run taking place on Saturday 18 April at Coney Beach.
Participants will walk, run, skip, dance or even hop the route – and will be showered with coloured powder along the way.
Mair Kinsey, Marketing and Events Officer at Tŷ Hafan, said: “The Rainbow Run is not a race and it’s not about speed or fitness – it’s about having lots of fun with friends and raising a smile for Tŷ Hafan.
“Tŷ Hafan is a magical place, full of fun and laughter and not what you might imagine a hospice to be. We aim to make the very most of the precious moments that children and families have together – that’s why we think that the Rainbow Run is the perfect way to celebrate and support the work we do.”
In 2014, the Rainbow Run raised almost £70,000 for Tŷ Hafan. This year the charity is also holding its colourful Rainbow Run at Dare Valley Country Park, Aberdare, on 18 July and Pendine Sands on 26 September.
Julian Hodge is kindly supporting all three Rainbow Runs and Tŷ Hafan is offering further sponsorship opportunities to local businesses.
Registration will open at 11.30am at the Rainbow Run Village on Coney Beach Promenade. Entry is £10 each or £7 per person for groups of five or more, with a minimum sponsorship of £50 per person.
It costs £3.7m a year to provide the Tŷ Hafan’s state-of-the-art facilities at Sully and deliver its support services to families out in the community.
