Our annual Prizegiving Ceremony was held on Thursday 14th April 2016 at St Elvan's church in Aberdare.
It was a delightful evening when we celebrated the achievement of our pupils. Many past pupils returned to receive awards and examinations certificates. These students are currently in university, college or have employment.
Our current pupils received awards for excellent progress and for commitment to school life. 'Colours' were also presented for involvement in school teams. We were delighted that Mr Roy Noble , OBE presented the prizes to the pupils. He gave an inspirational speech which enthused all.
The musical talents of pupils were evident as the orchestra and jazz band played various item, and the choir sang beautifully. Readings and prayers were said by pupils of the school and the Reverend Bernard Jones said God's Blessing.
In her speech, the Headteacher, Dr S M Mitchell, praised pupils – past and present for their achievements. She spoke of how proud she is of all the pupils and thanked staff, governors and parents for the support given.
It was a joyful occasion.
