South Wales Police are appealing for information following a distraction burglary
We are appealing for information following a distraction burglary in Chapel Rd, Llanharran where an elderly couple were targeted.
On Monday 13 July, sometime between 9.30 am and 3pm, a woman entered the home of an elderly couple pretending to be from a cleaning service and was there to help them.
Once inside she did a bit of cleaning before removing property from several rooms prior to asking for payment for the cleaning. She then left.
The female cleaner is described as white, aged 17-30, slim build, long shoulder-length black hair, with clips in the sides and a local accent. She was wearing a black jacket with fur on the hood, and black shiny strap shoes.
Detective Sergeant Warren Davies said:
“I would like to take this opportunity to reassurance the public that this is an isolated incident. However, I would like to highlight to the community, especially the elderly, to be on their guard and to try and verify the identity, or the company they are from, of anyone visiting their home especially if it is not a pre-arranged visit."
