The Royal Glamorgan Hospital has been given a ‘5’ rating for food hygiene standards following an unannounced inspection last week.
After a disappointing ‘1’ rating on June 25th, corrective action was taken within days. Inspectors have now awarded the kitchens the highest score for hygiene and cleanliness.
“I am very pleased that the score is now back to where it should be,” said Assistant Director of Facilities Anthony Hayward.
“The previous score was extremely disappointing for us all and not in-keeping at all with our usual high standards, which were reflected in the Royal Glamorgan’s previous score of 4”.
"Food standards are one of our highest priorities and we continue to be committed to providing a high quality service to our patients and our staff.”
