Rhondda Cynon Taf Council zero hours contracts of employment

The facts speak for themselves, Rhondda Cynon Taf Council say one thing and then completely ignore what they have said in government. A working group set up dealing with ‘zero hours’ contracts:

“That this Council, in an effort to end exploitative zero hours contacts, instructs that our Contract Procedure Rules be varied. The variation to provide for contract specifications based on a community benefit approach. This would require a social return on investment by disallowing delivery of the contract by staff on zero hours contracts of employment.’

This Council further orders a review of current contracts to examine the possibility of varying them in a further effort to end exploitative zero hours contracts.

So why after this statement did the labour controlled council still give further contract to outside contractors who use zero hour contracts? The Lido in Ponty has the Waterside Café, that is open all year around, and the Italian-style Caffe Bracchi at Rhondda Heritage Park run by Just Perfect Catering.

Just Perfect Catering has had a lot of bad publicity on Twitter and a website showing Just Perfect Catering Employee Reviews not good reading https://www.indeed.co.uk/cmp/Just-Perfect-Catering/reviews
