Staff from St John's were asked to share good practice at the Raising School Standards Capita Conference, held at the Hilton Hotel Cardiff.
Mrs Earland, Mrs Webber, Mr Jones, Mr Lewis and Dr Mitchell delivered presentations on'Taking a Whole School Approach to Improving Behaviour and Attitudes to Learning'. The conference was aimed at Headteachers, Heads of Learning, Governors and School Improvement Teams.
Dr Mitchell provided an overview of strategies the school uses, Mr Lewis spoke about the extremely valuable link with parents, Mrs Earland spoke about restorative approaches of behaviour management, Mrs Webber spoke about strategies to engage all and Mr Jones spoke about the learning environment.
The school was chosen due to its impressive Estyn report and the positive comments about pupil behaviour and consistently high standards.
