The public are urged to be vigilant following reports of two distraction burglaries

The public are urged to be vigilant following reports of two distraction burglaries which happened on Friday, 4th June, 2021.
On each occasion, two men targeted elderly residents and they called at the addresses claiming they were checking the water.
The first incident occurred in #Pencoed at 10.30am, but relatives living nearby disturbed the men who made off without taking anything.
The second incident, in which jewellery was stolen, occurred in #MerthyrTydfil at approximately 2.45pm.
Both incidents are now under investigation.
These types of incidents tend to occur in spates, and people are encouraged to be extra vigilant and to be on the lookout for elderly or vulnerable relatives or neighbours.
