Predicted Inclement Weather
Residents and motorists are advised inclement weather is predicted for the county borough in the coming days.
The following information may be of use.
People are reminded that out of hours emergency calls and alerts must be raised with our contact centre in the first instance.
While, in the case of certain inclement weather, channels such as the news section of this website and our Twitter feed will be used to keep you up to date, these accounts are not monitored around the clock.
As such, if you have an emergency, please contact 01443 425001, where expert call handlers can assist you.
There is a weather warning in place for Rhondda Cynon Taf in relation to snow and ice. This means there is a chance of freezing temperatures and possible snowfall on higher ground.

Schools are usually the first facilities to be affected by inclement weather. If this is the case, our online School Closures page will contain the latest information.
These pages are updated in real time by school staff and it is they who are responsible for the information on it.
As such, if you see information that is not clear, or are uncertain about the opening status of a school, please contact the school in the first instance.
Gritting and grit bins
We have a set, priority route which we follow when it comes to gritting. This includes main roads and high priority routes. Find out more about this route and our gritting network.
Grit bins are provided in the community and are for shared use for pavements and roads. They are not be be used to grit private driveways and land. Again, find out more about grit bins and how they are allocated and stocked.
Please be aware that our gritting vehicles are out at all hours of the day and night and are large, wide vehicles. As such, please be considerate when parking and ensure you are not causing an obstruction.
