Patient imprisoned for sustained attack on doctor and nurse
VandA_Nicola Lacey_POA woman who launched an unprovoked attack on A&E staff, whilst under the influence of alcohol has been jailed.
Nicola Lacey of Brynmair Road, Godreaman, Aberdare was sentenced to 12 weeks imprisonment following her violent outburst at the Emergency Care Centre, Prince Charles Hospital on October 21, 2014.
The court stated the reasons for the sentence as being ‘the seriousness of the offence, failure to comply with community orders, and commitment of offence in a public place under the influence’.
Dave Lewis, Violence & Aggression Case Manager at Cwm Taf University Health Board said: “This sentence sends out a strong message that violence against NHS staff is unacceptable and anyone who indulges in it will be proactively dealt with by the courts.”
