Nos Galan Park and Ride

With over 1,500 people taking part in the 2015 Nos Galan Road Races, it looks set to become the biggest event in its long and illustrious history.

An estimated crowd of around 10,000 spectators are also anticipated on the streets of Mountain Ash on Thursday, December 31, for what will no doubt be the biggest New Year’s Eve street party in Rhondda Cynon Taf.

Motorists heading to the event are advised to arrive early, well ahead of the start times.

A free Nos Galan Park and Ride service will once again operate this year. A shuttle bus will run every 10-15 minutes, from 3.30pm until 9.30pm, on December 31.

The Park and Ride facility is located on the A4059 AT Mountain Ash Comprehensive School, New Road, Mountain Ash, CF45 4DG.

The bus will leave Mountain Ash Comprehensive School, with drop off and return collection from the bus stop opposite the Aberdare Hotel, Ffrwd Crescent, Mountain Ash, CF45 4AB. This location is within walking distance of the town centre.

Motorists are advised to follow the road signs to the Nos Galan Park and Ride facility.

For the duration of the event, Oxford Street, Mountain Ash, will be closed to all traffic, with road diversions in place.

There may also be travel delays at Perthcelyn, Llanwonno Road, Cilhaul Terrace and High Street as the Mystery Runners and Support Runners make their way down the hillside into the town.
