New rules on Council TAX Rhondda Cynon Taf

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, pursuant to Part 1 of the Local Government Finance Act 1992 (as amended) and the Council Tax (Prescribed Classes of Dwellings) (Wales) Regulations 1998 (as amended) (the ‘Regulations’).

 

Rhondda Cynon Taf County Borough Council, by a resolution made on 17th January 2018, did determine that in respect of the whole of the County Borough area the Council Tax discounts relating to the classes of prescribed dwellings described below will be as follows:

 

(i) For dwellings falling into Class A and Class B of the Regulations, the Council Tax discount will be 0%. Class A dwellings comprise all dwellings which are

 

(a) not the sole or main residence of an individual;

 

(b) substantially furnished and (c) the occupation of which is prohibited by law for a continuous period of at least 28 days in the relevant year.

 

Class B dwellings comprise all dwellings which are

 

(a) not the sole or main residence of an individual;

 

(b) substantially furnished and (c) the occupation of which is not prohibited by law for a continuous period of at least 28 days in the relevant year.

 

(ii) For dwellings falling into Class C of the Regulations, the Council Tax discount will be 0%.

 

Class C dwellings comprise all chargeable dwellings which are unoccupied and substantially unfurnished.
