National Theatre Wales and Theatr Genedlaethol Cymru are seeking a local promoter for their upcoming production {150} at the Royal Opera House Stores in Abercwmboi from 27 June to 11 July 2015

As promoter, you will need to work closely with National Theatre Wales and Theatr Genedlaethol Cymru’s Communications and Collaboration departments, and the team on the production to develop ways to engage with target audience groups and promote the show, locally.

This is a freelance position for the duration of the {150} performances only. 

Hours of work
A total of 14 days between Monday 1 June & Saturday 4 July. Hours are flexible, with up to 3 days per week (24 hours) being committed to the role.

The fee for this work is a daily rate of  £70*
 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • To promote {150} in the local area.
  • To engage with the local community to promote the show, including local arts organisations / cultural venues
  • To work closely with NTW Communications Officer on a local strategy for distribution and local presence, reporting back weekly on activities and delivery of the strategy
  • To build engagement around the production by meeting and engaging with a range of targeted audiences and groups, e.g. theatre groups, young people, youth groups, local businesses
  • Developing and maintaining a local, online presence through sharing activity on social media. e.g. Facebook and Twitter. 

Skills Required:

  • Ability to work through the medium of Welsh
  • A link to or knowledge of the relevant area, its community and/or target groups
  • Previous experience of event promotion in the local area
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • An interest in National Theatre Wales & Theatr Genedlaethol Cymru and their work
  • Desired: A full driving licence

*You shall have the status of a self employed person and shall not be entitled to any pension, holiday pay, sick pay, redundancy pay or any other fringe benefits from either company. In accordance with this, you shall be wholly responsible for all taxes, National Insurance or similar contributions, which may be payable out of, or in respect of, any fees or other monies connected to this agreement.
