Music and Nursery Service Change Proposals Consultation
Following the recent announcement of the extension of the consultation on changes to the funding of nursery and music education in the County Borough, Leader of the Council, Councillor Andrew Morgan has confirmed the dates for three public engagement events which will take place in January.
County Borough Councillor Andrew Morgan, Leader of the Council said:
“We know what an emotive subject any service change proposals are for those potentially affected, and we want to ensure that everyone who may be impacted upon has the opportunity to have their say.
“In December Cabinet determined to provide further information to consultees and agreed for the consultation period to be extended until the end of January, which can only help provide the Cabinet with further information from consultation responses that will allow us to make an informed and evidenced-based decision.
“As part of the extended consultation a further three public engagement events will take place in January.
“So far, six of these sessions have taken place throughout Rhondda, Cynon and Taf, in addition to the question and answer sessions held with the Cabinet in September and I am pleased to be able to confirm the details of a further three events which will take place in Llantrisant Leisure Centre, Abercynon Leisure Centre and Rhondda Sports Centre, Ystrad, in January on the following dates:
Thursday 15th January 1-5pm – Abercynon Leisure Centre
Monday , 26th January 1-7pm – Rhondda Sports Centre
Tuesday, 27th January 1-7pm – Llantrisant Leisure Centre
“I would again urge everyone to submit their views or come along to one of the further engagement events to speak with Cabinet Members and Officers face to face about the proposals.”
