Smiles all round at Mountain Ash Comprehensive School
Mountain Ash Comprehensive School’s “A” level students secured the school’s best ever “A“ level results with 97% achieving the level 3 threshold, which is a full 9% up on 2014. Headteacher, Huw Lloyd said “I’m delighted for our students, staff and parents. The students have worked hard and got their just rewards. All students secured places in their first choice universities and colleges, and a number also obtained some sought after apprenticeships in the engineering, sporting and construction fields”. There were some notable performances at “A” level;
Gemma Bush: A* RS, A Geography, A English Literature, B Fine Art. Gemma will go on to study Religious Studies at Cardiff University
Thomas Landeg : A English Literature, B French, B History, B Welsh Baccalaureate. Thomas will go on to study History at Swansea University
Victoria Campbell : A History, B Geography, B English Language, Victoria will go on to study Law at Cardiff University
Abigail O Driscoll: A RS and B English Literature. Abigail will go on to study English Literature and Publishing at Bath Spa University
Corey Mead: B English, B RS and C Biology. Corey is going on to study Paramedic Science at St George’s University London.
A special mention should also be made of Justyna Majer from Poland, who joined the school in KS3 when she knew very little English. After an outstanding set of GCSE results Justyna achieved an A*, B, C, D at “A” level.
