The Leader of Rhondda Cynon Taf County Borough Counci Engagement Sessions

The Leader of Rhondda Cynon Taf County Borough Council, Councillor Andrew Morgan has today announced the dates for the local engagements events which will take place as part of the consultation process for Music and Nursery Service Change proposals.

Cllr Morgan said: “We are committed to engaging effectively with residents regarding the £30m budget gap we face next year and the subsequent tough decisions which must inevitably be considered to ensure we can set a legally balanced budget by March 2015.

“When Cabinet made the decision to take the Nursery and Music service change proposals out to consultation we made it clear that as well as lengthening the process to an eight week one we also wanted to organise drop in sessions to allow residents who may be affected to speak to officers and Cabinet Members about the proposals and the budget situation in general face to face.

“To ensure that those who wish to attend are given every opportunity to do so, we have arranged for two drop in sessions to take place in Rhondda, Cynon and Taf.”

Details of the drop in sessions are as follows:

Monday 17th November – 4pm-7pm – Sobell Leisure Centre, Aberdare
Thursday 20th November – 4pm-7pm – Tonyrefail Leisure Centre
Wednesday 3rd December – 4pm-7pm – Cynon Valley Indoor Bowls, Mountain Ash
Thursday 4th December – 4pm-7pm – Training room 2, YMCA Pontypridd
Wednesday 10th December – 4pm-7pm – Rehearsal room, Coleg y Cymoedd, Rhondda

Cllr Morgan added: “The drop in sessions will be in addition to the direct engagement already taking place with parents over the proposals and residents can also submit their views via the online survey.
