Karina joins Abacare recruitment team

KARINA Barrett from Abercynon has recently (January, 2017) been appointed as a Recruitment Administrator for an award-winning care company in Rhondda Cynon Taf (RCT).

The 28-year-old will be responsible for recruiting carers for Abacare, which last year (2016) won a 10-year framework to provide care in the area.

Karina, who is originally from Nelson in Caerphilly, said: “I am very happy in my new role, which is very busy, however, I get great job satisfaction knowing that each day I am able to contribute to a company that strives daily to provide the best service to our staff and service users alike. I look forward to my future here at Abacare.”

Karina will be responsible for the recruitment of carers and ensuring all candidates received the relevant training necessary to deliver care to service users.

She will also ensure all new candidates have met legal criteria before going out to work in the community.

Before her position at Abacare Karina worked at a recruitment company in Cardiff.

In her spare time she enjoys walking her dog and spending time with friends and family.

Peter Angelides, CEO of the multi-award winning Abacare, said: “It is great news that Karina has joined our recruitment team in our RCT office.

“The demand for care in the area is continuously growing and our service user base is always expanding so we’re always on the lookout for kind and caring individuals who are looking for a career change and want to join us. Karina and the rest of the recruitment team will play an integral part of the decision process for who we consider for the roles available.”

We will also pay carers while they are training with us and also pay for their DBS checks.

“There are lots of opportunities for internal advancement for all our team members who show commitment, reliability and true passion. We provide a great support network for all of our carers too. There is the potential for the right candidates to stay with us for the full 10 year contract and beyond.

“Anyone who joins us can reach QCF level 2, 3 and 5 with our support and we’re urging anyone thinking of changing their job, or getting back into the work force again, to get in touch as soon as possible and not to miss out on this fantastic career opportunity.”
