Clubs up and down the Country are taking over their community halls and theatres and transforming them into enchanted castles, woodland forests and somewhere over the rainbow as they prepare for their County Pantomime Competition.

Over 100 clubs will battle it out for a chance to represent their County Federation at the annual Wales YFC Entertainment Feast. This year the event will be held at the prestigious Grand Theatre in Swansea on the 7th & 8th March. The festival is kindly being supported by Coleg Sir Gâr.

The event will host both the Welsh and English Pantomimes and will give members the opportunity to perform on a professional stage with state of the art facilities. The Pantomime Competition has been held for a number of years and is an example of how the organisation succeeds in encouraging young people to take part in an activity which they wouldn’t ordinarily have the opportunity to do.

The Junior and Senior Member Competition Year, sponsored by JCP Solicitors, as well as the dancing competition also take place on the same weekend.

Wales YFC Chairman, Iwan Meirion said;

“The Pantomime is one of my favourite competitions of the year. It gives our members of all ages an opportunity to perform in a professional production while having fun. YFC definitely has a bottomless pit of talent!”
