Independent Estyn review announced by Chief Inspector and Cabinet Secretary for Education
The Chief Inspector of Estyn, Meilyr Rowlands, and the Cabinet Secretary for Education, Kirsty Williams AM, have announced a review of Estyn, the schools inspectorate for Wales.
The review will take in to account Wale’s education reforms and the effect they will have on Estyn’s role.
Professor Graham Donaldson will undertake the review, which will begin in August, with a report due in early 2018. He has extensive previous experience of conducting education system reviews internationally.
In the joint announcement, both the Cabinet Secretary and the Chief Inspector expressed their support for the review and their desire to continue to improve Estyn and ensure it achieves excellence.
