Weather updates

There is a weather warning in place for Rhondda Cynon Taf in relation to snow and ice. This means there is a chance of freezing temperatures and possible snowfall on higher ground.

Please keep up to date with the latest conditions and forecasts via the Met Office Website

Schools

Schools are usually the first facilities to be affected by inclement weather. If this is the case, our online School Closures page will contain the latest information.

These pages are updated in real time by school staff and it is they who are responsible for the information on it.

As such, if you see information that is not clear, or are uncertain about the opening status of a school, please contact the school in the first instance.

Gritting and grit bins

We have a set, priority route which we follow when it comes to gritting. This includes main roads and high priority routes. Find out more about this route and our gritting network.

Grit bins are provided in the community and are for shared use for pavements and roads. They are not be be used to grit private driveways and land. Again, find out more about grit bins and how they are allocated and stocked.

Please be aware that our gritting vehicles are out at all hours of the day and night and are large, wide vehicles. As such, please be considerate when parking and ensure you are not causing an obstruction.

Transport and travel

Any road closures as a result of inclement weather will be posted on the news section or on our twitter feed.

Limited information on bus disruption has been released. This has been sent to us by the bus operators and we have passed it on. Please contact the bus operators in the first instance for the latest news and information.
