Illegal Off Roading will not be tolerated in Cynon Valley

Attended Aberaman South PACT meeting yesterday 27 April 2016  disappointed with the attendance as only 2 local residents attended along with the 2 Aberaman South councilors and the 2 local PCSO’s, I assume everyone in the area is satisfied with the policing and what RCTC are doing. Or was it the open evening being held at Glynhafod Junior School over the amalgamation of Cwmaman infants’ and Glynhafod junior schools, RCTC are closing both schools and creating a new community primary school, from 1st September 2018.

The main discussion at the PACT meeting was about off road motorcyclists and the nuisance they cause to local residents South Wales Police informed they have had numerous complaints from residents and were concerned that summer months are coming and the nuisance will accelerate.

The PCSO’s who attended made notes of the hotspots and the local councilors will arrange meetings with various interested parties to discus the problems with site visits.

The main hotspot is rear of Farrells Home Improvement Company top of Farm Road; why have residents from North View Terrace and Godreaman have to put up with this noise when there is an excellent off road centre at Llanwonno the Dave Thorpe Off Road Centre.

There were a number of ideas put forward to deter this nuisance for local residents that were discussed in the meeting there was talk of placing CCTV at the site, the PCSO’s agreed to make this area a priority with spot checks as and when.

So if you don’t want your motorcycle impounded if used illegally as the land rear of Farrells Home Improvement Company is owned by RCTC and if you don’t have permission from RCTC to use this land you are committing an offence, take the easy route and ride somewhere legal and don’t be a nuisance to others and enjoy the sport.
