Footpath Closure Trecynon
RHONDDA CYNON TAFF COUNTY BOROUGH COUNCIL
(FOOTPATH 18 ABERDARE)
(TEMPORARY CLOSURE) ORDER 2020
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Rhondda Cynon Taff County Borough Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 which will have a maximum duration of six months.
The effect of the Order will be to temporarily close the following sections of path:-
Footpath 18 Aberdare
That part of the footpath that commences on Park Lane to the east of Park Lane Special School, Park Lane, Trecynon, Aberdare, CF44 8HN (SN991034) and proceeds in a westerly direction for approximately 290 metres to terminate at Cherry Grove, Cwmdare, Aberdare, CF44 8RJ (SN989032)
The closure is necessary because of the likelihood of danger to the public during installation of a footbridge as part of Park Lane Flood Alleviation Scheme
During the period of the closure, users are advised to use the alternative route available via the shared use path to the west of Aberdare Park, Beechwood Avenue, Alder Drive and Cherry Drive, or Park Lane, Cemetery Road (B4275), Cwmdare Road, Broncynon Terrace and Cherry Drive
The Order will be in operation from 27th July – 30th October 2020, or until such time as the works have been completed
The works on the path will be intermittent and advanced signage will be placed on site at least 7 days prior to any closure taking place to give the public adequate notice.
