Do you fancy a career in the TV and film?

Do you fancy a career in the TV and film? Young people from Rhondda Cynon Taf are once again being given the opportunity to get their first taste of life in the industry.

Rhondda Cynon Taf Council is continuing to support It’s My Shout, a FREE training scheme, open to experienced and inexperienced creative people aged 16 and above.

Their annual launch in Rhondda Cynon Taf takes place at the Coliseum Theatre, Aberdare, on Wednesday, January 29 (5pm). It is a FREE event and no tickets are needed.

Each year It’s My Shout produces short films for BBC Wales, S4C, Welsh Government and Arts Council of Wales. They offer a wide range of opportunities in the creative industry by sharing experiences, developing skills and boosting confidence. They are passionate about nurturing, developing and discovering new talent.

“We have so many talented young people across our communities in Rhondda Cynon Taf who are looking to get into the television and film industry.

“It’s My Shout is there to offer these people a fantastic opportunity to kick-start their careers

“With the full support of the Council, It’s My Shout continues to recognise the artistic and creative talents of our young people. Over the years it has opened so many doors of opportunity for so many individuals, with many past trainees going on to become professionals within the TV and film industry.”

As part of the annual It’s My Shout initiative, those selected to take part will gain valuable experience on a working film set, both behind the scenes and in front of the camera.

Each year around 30 young people from Rhondda Cynon Taf and surrounding areas work with industry professionals to produce a series of short films. The annual event, which takes place during the summer months, culminates in a ‘Red Carpet’ premiere event at a prestigious venue in Wales.

It’s My Shout is supported by Rhondda Cynon Taf Council as part of the ArtsConnect initiative, a key partnership between local authority arts services in the County Borough, Caerphilly, Vale of Glamorgan, Bridgend, Merthyr Tydfil and Cardiff.

As well as acting roles, trainees also have the opportunity to work in various production roles such as visual and sound and also behind the scenes in the costume and hair and make-up departments.

The Rhondda Cynon Taf recruitment sessions will consist of an informal chat, followed by a sign-up session with the team from It’s My Shout.

The latest It’s My Shout launch takes place at the Coliseum Theatre, Aberdare, on Wednesday, January 29 (5pm). It is a FREE event. No tickets are needed. For more information call 01656 858187.
