Do you “Actively Travel”?

Do you actively travel to work, school, shops, hospital/GP appointments?

Rhondda Cynon Taf Council is keen to hear from its residents on the walking and cycling network that is in place around the County Borough and how it could be improved.

The Council fully supports the Active Travel (Wales) Act 2013 and wants to ensure that every resident is able to enjoy the benefits of active travel.

By taking simple steps, like walking the short distance to your GP surgery or cycling to work, residents are able to improve their health and overall wellbeing, alongside improving the environment for everyone else – win, win!

On 23 October 2015 the Council launched its active travel consultation and is inviting everyone to get involved and share their views. The consultation period will last until 15 January 2016 and the findings will help to shape the future development of active travel in the County Borough.

For the individual Council Wards in Rhondda Cynon Taf, the Council has produced a series of maps of the current active travel network and this will form an important part of the consultation with the public.

There are various ways you can get involved, from filling out a short questionnaire on-line, atwww.rctcbc.gov.uk/currentconsultation or email consultation@rctcbc.gov.uk, to browsing through a printed copy of these maps at any One4All centre or library.
