Rhondda Cynon Taf Council is pleased to announce the following Christmas events:

Cllr Maureen Webber, Cabinet Member for Council Business and Corporate Affairs, said: “Christmas is an important trading time for our town centres, and that is why the Council has committed to financially support Christmas events this year and to also support Christmas lighting.
“Over the coming year we will seek to work more closely with town centre traders, town councils and the wider community to ensure even in these austere times we are able to recognise Christmas in the future, despite the on-going cuts to funding we are likely to face.
“The reduction in the salary of Cabinet Members and the Leader is already funding free parking in our town centres throughout December.
“As a Council, we currently provide more Christmas events than any other local authority in Wales, with these events taking place right across the county.”
A number of roads across Rhondda Cynon Taf will be temporarily closed to allow the Christmas events to be held. The roads affected are:
Pontypridd, November 15: Taff Street from its junction with Crossbrook Street through to High Street and its junction with Sardis Road (including Penuel Lane, Gas Road, temperance Place, Market Street, Church Street and Mill Street).
Tonypandy, November 22: Dunraven Street, Lower Dunraven Street, De Winton Street.
Porth: November 28: Hannah Street.
Aberdare, November 29: Commercial Street, Canon Street, Victoria Square, High Street, Market Street, Cardiff Street, Station Street, Duke Street.
Llantrisant, December 3: High Street, Swan Street, George Street, The Bull Ring, Yr Allt.
Treorchy, December 6: Bute Street, High Street, Station Road.
South Wales Police will control all traffic movements as and when required along the routes. Diversions will be in place and will be clearly signposted. Access will be maintained for pedestrians and emergency services at all times.
