Cash was stolen at an Aberdare supermarket.

Police in Aberdare are wishing to trace a man after cash was stolen at an Aberdare supermarket.

The theft happened around 5pm on Monday 28th December 2015 at Asda, Cwmbach in Aberdare.

At around 5pm on Monday 28th December a man shopping in Asda’s Aberdare supermarket used one of the self service tills and asked for cashback when he paid. He left the money by mistake and a man is seen on CCTV taking the money after paying for his shopping.

PC Leanne Jones said: “We would like to advise shoppers to be careful when using self service tills and to remember to take items and any cashback with them”.

“We would also like to remind people that they are stealing and committing a criminal offence by helping themselves to any money left behind and not handing the money over to a staff member”.

PC Jones added: “We are keen to speak to the man pictured, who used the till next, and who may be able to assist with enquiries into the theft”.

Anyone who can identify the man in the CCTV is urged to contact us on 101 quoting reference number 1500477212. Alternatively Crimestoppers can be contacted anonymously on 0800 555 111.
