South Wales Retired Miners Pension Campaign

First they came for the communists, I didn’t speak out because I wasn’t a communist.
Then they came for the unions but I didn’t speak out because I wasn’t a union man.
Then they came and closed the mines, I didn’t speak out because they lied.
Then they came for our pensions, I spoke out but few listened.
Then they came and took all the billions, but there was no one left to speak out.
As I have said above: “then they took all the billions, but there was no one left to speak out.

Philip Hammond the Chancellor of the Exchequer says he can’t see any poverty in this country of ours!
The definition of poverty is: living below the norm! Some people think poverty is defined as near starvation—no it’s not!
If I could afford it, I’d send Hammond a Hard back copy of Webster’s Dictionary— on Amazon for £56.99.
Millionaire politicians are gravely out of touch— Thatcher said there’s no such thing as society! She should know; she dismantled it. I don’t like to say it, but some politicians have made themselves unreachable islands in an ocean of ignorance.
