Youth services directory now online

Youth services directory

A directory of services across Rhondda Cynon Taf to support young people - particularly those at risk of missing out on education and training opportunities - can now be viewed online.

Giving young people the best possible opportunities in education, training and employment remains a high priority for Rhondda Cynon Taf Council. The Directory of Services that support children and young people who are at risk of disengaging from education, employment and training, and their families has recently been published by the Council’s Service Delivery Improvements (SDI) team.

All schools and community centres across Rhondda Cynon Taf have received copies of the directory, which supports the work being done locally to help improve the delivery of services to local families, especially those living in poverty.

The information was collated with support from Fframwaith and the Council’s Supporting Engagement in Education, Employment and Training Steering Group and can also be viewed at the Fframwaith website and also by Rhondda Cynon Taf schools via rctmoodle.org

The directory lists useful information on and contact details for a wide range of services, from community projects such as Communities First to education services; employability skills such as Want to Work and family-focused services including Rhondda Cynon Taf Council’s Family Information Service.

There are also contact details for vocational opportunities and the various agencies which provide work placements, volunteering opportunities and training, as well as youth projects and services such as RCT Community Arts, and those run by other agencies such as the Fire Service.

Cllr Eudine Hanagan, Cabinet Member for Education, Skills and Lifelong Learning, said: "This directory brings together the wide range of local providers working with young people and their families, and we hope it will be a useful resource."
