YFC MEMBERS TALK FOR WALES!

2285.jpg

Over 500 YFC members travelled to the Royal Welsh Showground on Saturday 29th March to take part in the Wales YFC Public Speaking Day.

Members from all over Wales attended the day to take part in the Wales YFC Welsh and English Public Speaking competitions, and as ever, the competition was close in each section. Following a full day of competing Ceredigion Federation were overall winners of the Welsh section and Radnor Federation were the overall winners of the English section.

Gwennan Davies, Wales YFC’s Competitions Chairman was pleased with the members performances; “It was good to hear young people in our organisation speaking, debate and expressing their views so eloquently in Welsh and English, this is a competition that gives individuals the opportunity to acquire the skill of standing in front of an audience by learning the valuable craft of public speaking - a trade that will probably be used throughout their professional life. Other competitions taking place were 'Just A Minute', 'Situations Vacant and 'Cube Display' on the theme ‘Serving Our Country’ - three different competition, but again they provides members with useful skills. Congratulations to the hundreds of members who came to Llanelwedd to compete, you are a credit to the organisation.”
