Following on from last years successful “Know the Score” campaign DAN 24/7 is keeping the rugby theme going with a bigger and better “Know the Score” 2014.

DAN 24/7 is pleased to announce that this year the campaign is being endorsed by the Ospreys and Welsh international rugby player, Adam Jones.

Last year the campaign focused on Mephedrone which was very prevalent and causing a great number of problems across Wales. This year the message is make sure you know the score on drugs – what they are, what they can do to you, what the law says and most importantly where to go for help and support.

The campaign is Wales wide with radio adverts, press adverts in local North and South Wales newspapers as well billboards and perimeter boards at the Six Nations games at the Millennium Stadium. There is also a competition running on the website to encourage people to access information online if that’s what they would prefer on www.dan247.org.uk .

Adam Jones, Ospreys and Welsh International said “Here at the Ospreys we think it’s great that there’s a service like DAN 247 in Wales which can help people in Wales when they’re suffering from drug and alcohol problems. They can have such negative effects on peoples bodies and minds and its incredibly important that the people know the score when it comes to the affects they have on their health

Janet Roberts, Helpline Manager said “The success of last years campaign has meant we can build on what worked and we were really pleased to have teamed up with the Ospreys and Adam Jones to further raise the profile of this year’s campaign. We want to make sure that anyone in Wales who needs help with either drugs or alcohol issues knows there’s one number to ring where they will get support, information and sign posting to local agencies”

The “Know the Score” campaign will run until the 31st March 2014. You may not know what the score is going to be in the Rugby but you can find out the score with drugs by contacting DAN 24/7.

Information: DAN 24/7 (Wales Drug & Alcohol Helpline) provides support and information to anyone concerned about their own drug/alcohol misuse or that of a relative or friend. The service operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a week
