What A Weekend!

crowds(5).jpg

The party’s over for another year – and Ponty’s Big Weekend has been a huge success.

Large crowds gathered for open-air concerts on both days, with chart-topping boy band Union J headlining on Sunday night, performing all of their hits – much to the delight of their army of fans.

They were supported by X Factor winner Sam Bailey, Rough Copy, Damage, Loveable Rogues, Tich, The Parades and Hollywood Ending.

The FREE Saturday concert starred Only Men Aloud, 57 Chevy, and X Factor favourite and West End star Lucie Jones.

The show was hosted by television presenter and West End star Connie Fisher.

The local support acts at Ponty’s Big Weekend were community-based 025 Choir, all-round entertainer Reuel Elijah, young five-piece band The Tribeless, teenage vocalist and guitarist Callum Walsh, the action-packed Take Part Crew and singer Rachel Stevens.

Ponty’s Big Weekend 2014was proudly brought to you by Rhondda Cynon Taf Council, Orchard Entertainment and Capital FM and is sponsored by the Council’s Pontypridd Regeneration partner Costain.
