Wales YFC celebrates St Valentine’s Day with a twist by pledging support to their 2013 charity of the year, British Heart Foundation: Cymru
Throughout the year clubs, counties and individuals across Wales will be raising money to support the BHF’s ‘No time to wait’ appeal. Wales YFC aim to raise enough money to fund a defibrillator in each of their 12 counties across Wales. Enabling vital access to these lifesaving machines for people in rural Wales.
Valentine’s day sparks a reminder to all across Wales of Wales YFC’s involvement in this campaign. “We wanted to share our message across Wales by using Valentine’s day as a springboard to remind people of the work that we’ll be doing throughout the year with BHF Cymru, starting with the walking campaign this weekend” Gwenno Griffith, Wales YFC Chair.
Gwenno, Chairman of Wales YFC will start on her trek to the highest peak in each county across Wales this weekend, Sunday 17 February 2013, as the Gwent members and Gwenno walk to the top of the Sugar Loaf Mountain. It marks the start of the 12 peaks YFC journey, which will make its way around Wales, and finish with our highest peak, Snowdon in September 2013.
Gwenno welcomes as much support as possible so if you’d like to join in or give a donation please contact the Wales YFC Centre on 01982 553502 for more details.
